B. Seve Ballesteros-Santander Airport

This international airport also belongs to AENA Network. It is named in honor of the professional golfer Severiano Ballesteros, considered the most international athlete in Cantabria and who died in 2011. It is located in the municipality of Camargo, 5km from Santander. The airport has a taxi stop and car rental offices and, likewise, the bus company ALSA links the airport by bus, with different localities of Cantabrian Cornice, among them, Gijón and Oviedo. Regarding to airlines and destinations, the Seve Ballesteros-Santander Airport offers annual routes and seasonal routes, both national and international. This airport is, approximately, 200km from Candás and takes about 2 hours by car.

From Santander Airport to Asturias (Options)

DIRECT JOURNEY BY BUS: santander AIRPORT – CANDÁS

Online tickets and timetable are available on the official website https://www.alsa.es/

You should write your departure from Santander Airport and arrival at Candás. You may not be able to buy these tickets so far in advance, but you can check the timetable by setting an earlier date.

Be careful and if you are going to travel from “Santander Airport”, don’t write only “Santander” which would mean the bus station.

DIRECT JOURNEY BY BUS: Santander AIRPORT – GIJÓN (BUS STATION)

By direct bus (ALSA timetable): The following timetables are the only two direct buses that ALSA company has from this Airport to Gijón (bus station).

  • Santander Airport 15:10 – Bus station of Gijón 19:15 (4h 05min)
TRANSFER JOURNEY BY BUS: SANTANDER AIRPORT – SANTANDER (BUS STATION) – GIJÓN (BUS STATION)

In case not arrive at that time, it is also possible to take an interurban bus of ALSA, from Santander Airport to Santander Bus Station, and the journey takes, approximately, 15 minutes and its departure is each 30 minutes:

After this, from Santander (bus station) to Gijón (bus station), but the journey depends on the time of departure and the bus stopes (between 3h – 4h, approximately).
